Clinton Defeats Coal King Obama by Two to One Margin in West Virginia
Special Report and Analysis by the CY News Team

West Virginia is a coal-rich state. Barack Obama is the champion of coal into liquid fuel.  During the last couple of weeks, he has talked up use of coal in an effort to get the voters in West Virginia and Kentucky, another coal-rich state, to support him.  In today's primary, Hillary Clinton defeated Barack Obama by a landslide victory and she is expected to defeat him against next week in Kentucky.  Clinton's victory was well over two to one and approached three to one. What happened and why didn't Obama's catering to the coal industry work?

While Obama was trying to get the support of coal mine owners, he seemed to forget that the workers have more votes than the tycoons.  Obama might be swimming in coal mine cash, but he is sinking in coal worker opposition.  Hillary Clinton is working to improve safety standards for coal miners.  Of the two candidates, she is the only one with a comprehensive plan that looks like universal health care.  Her voting record has been much more pro-labor than that of Barack Obama.

Every successful Democratic Presidential candidate since 1960 has gotten the support of West Virginia in the primary.

A look at various message boards reveals that a great many Clinton supporters would actually back John McCain over Barack Obama.  Without the Clinton supporters, Obama's Presidential chances will die in November.  Clinton won California, the largest state, by a landslide.  Obama cannot count on the Golden State any more than Gray Davis or Phil Angelides could.

The Republican owned TV media is pushing for Clinton to withdraw in the hopes of guaranteeing John McCain an easy November victory.  Many Democrats are looking for an independent candidate to step up to save them.  Kari, a Democrat from Newport Beach, may be the Cassandra of 2008 when she says, "It looks like the Democrats will lose worse than in 1972, this year."  As a note of interest, the Republican-selected 1972 Democratic Presidential candidate is backing Obama.
