DPOC HOLDS KAFKAESQUE KANGAROO TRIALS AGAINST DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES
Special Report from the Creative Youth News Team

5/26/08
Soundly defeated at a Kafkaesque procedure against Democratic candidates at the Orange County Democratic Central Committee meeting of one week ago, DPOC Chairman Frank Barbaro and Orange County Democratic leaders called a short-notice Kafkaesque Kangaroo Court retake against one of the Democratic candidates attacked last week.  With most members expected to be absent, leaders seem to believe they will be successful in pulling the endorsement of the only Democrat running  against three Republicans in the OC 1st District Supervisor's race.  Most informed sources believe that the Democratic leadership is once again backing the Republican candidates of Orange County, including Republican incumbent Supervisor Janet Nguyen, who holds Lou Correa's former county supervisor's seat as a result of a series of faux-pas committed by the the DPOC in 2006 and 2007 that gave the appearance that the DPOC was an anti-Vietnamese racist organization engaged in endorsement-rigging.  Creative Youth covered those DPOC faux-pas.

According to all  who have expressed opposition to Democratic Supervisorial candidate Hoa Tran, he has done absolutely nothing wrong.  However, the DPOC leadership is upset that Tran hired a former DPOC employee.  That employee was vetted by Marti Shrank, Susan Freeze, Frank Barbaro and others in connection with that employee's position of Political Field Director for the Democratic Party of Orange County.   Members have asked, "If hiring him was so wrong, why did the Democratic Party do it,""Why did Frank Barbaro and other DPOC leaders present this guy as an outstanding Democrat and citizen to the members of the central committee?"   and "Why is it so much worse for someone else to hire him than for the DPOC to hire him?"

Reportedly, last week's central committee meeting was followed by seemingly insane rantings from some woman seeking revenge against Democratic Garden Grove City Council candidate Paul Lucas and maybe against Hoa Tran.  The vote, held  in violation of the DPOC bylaws for the purpose of reprimanding Lucas for causing some problems for the Republicans, produced a result of 21 to 14 in favor of Lucas and against the DPOC leaders trying to destroy the chances of Democratic hopefuls this year.  Some man who appeared to be associated with the ranting woman was running around calling Central Committee members, who opposed the attack on Lucas, a series of obnoxious adjectives after the meeting.

The kangaroo retake hearing is scheduled for Tuesday night during a scheduled meeting of the most liberal Democratic club in the area.  That liberal Democratic club has often been considered the watchdog of the political scene and some speculate that the DPOC is putting members of that club in the position of choosing between attending their own meeting on time or doing part of the work of their club in going to the special meeting to fight political corruption.

Many fear that, like last week, the DPOC Chairman will refuse to follow Roberts Rules of Order and candidates will be again be attacked with unsubstantiated, wild, generalized accusations for lengthy periods without any rebuttal time.   The floor leaders of the attacks on Democrats were Marti Shrank and Claudio Gallegos.  Gallegos resigned from the committee after his defeat.  The secretary accepted his resignation.  To those present, it appeared that Barbaro was orchestrating the happenings from the platform.  Last week,  those attacking Democratic candidate Paul Lucas seemed to confuse Paul Lucas with Bob Dornan, Loretta Sanchez's original opponent.  Lucas and Dornan are unrelated and have opposing political views. Dornan is a lot older than Lucas.  It was undoubtedly a surprise to Lucas, once a close friend of his attackers, to find that the DPOC leadership has no honor when it has an opportunity to help the Republican Party.  Democrats were also told to swallow fanciful stories that appeared to have no basis in reality.   Democrats didn't. They voted down the leadership.

If Democrats had voted to destroy all Democratic candidates at the last regular central committee meeting, the leaders would never have had to call a short-notice retake.

Although Barbaro was not elected to the Central Committee, he will be on the ballot on June 3, 2008. This is because the bylaws temporarily called for officers to be elected.  When this obstacle to tyranny was discovered, it was quickly eliminated to allow non-members of the DPOC to become officers without ever being on a ballot.  Barbaro doesn't need to be elected to be chairman, but the Democratic candidates would feel more supported if the voters voted out the guy convening these kangaroo circuses against them.
