The American public was shocked this week as 263 members of the
House of Representatives and 74 members of the U.S. Senate were caught
stealing more than 700 billion from the American people and the
U.S. Treasury. Those caught included both of the major
Presidential candidates and one of the Vice Presidential
candidates. As theft is not part of the job duties of members of
Congress, they cannot claim immunity. Will the 337 individuals
caught in the Crime of the Century go to jail? Will new
candidates have to be chosen for the upcoming election season?
It's anyone's guess.
There were some heroes in Congress this week who tried to stop the
theft. These brave heroes included Dennis Kucinich, Russ
Feingold, Ron Wyden, Pete Stark, Ron Paul, Raul Grijalva and the
Sanchez sisters. Dennis Kucinich called the Crime of the Century
"...the dumbest thing I've ever seen."
Up in arms, members of the public are calling for the funds to be
turned over to the American people for safe-keeping. One
observer stated, "After all, the thieves can't be counted on guard the
loot from themselves." Some members of the public are planning to
send their education, hospital, food and housing bills to Congress as
the money to pay these bills was stolen by the very representatives the
public trusted.
It is now being suggested, that if the major Presidential candidates
are indicted for the theft, they should be replaced by leaders who
actively tried to stop the theft. The Democratic and Republican
leaders who worked the hardest to stop the theft were Dennis Kucinich
and Ron Paul.
Among current Presidential candidates, Cynthia McKinney worked hardest
to stop the theft. Members of the public expect her to retrieve
the
stolen money and prosecute offenders if she is elected.
