Last night, Hillary Clinton won South Dakota and the popular vote for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States.  It has been a national tradition since 2000 for the loser to take office.  In keeping with this tradition, the Democratic super delegates handed Barack Obama the Democratic nomination.  Clinton is being encouraged by party leaders to step down and concede to the loser of the popular vote.

Today, consistent with handing the general election victory to the Republican Party, the Democrats are lining up behind Obama, a man who was put into the Illinois State Senate and U.S. Senate with the assistance and funding of Antonin Rezko, an underworld slumlord who today was convicted on 16 counts involving political corruption.  He is to be tried  later on additional criminal counts in Nevada.

The Republicans National Committee and John McCain are expected to thank the Democratic leadership and the Democratic super delegates for handing them the 2008 Presidential election.  Some Democratic voters are asking, "Is Cynthia McKinney coming to the rescue?"
