As if the week weren't bad enough for George W. Bush with one popular
Democratic Presidential candidate (Dennis Kucinich) announcing his
plans to have Bush and members of his administration arrested following
his inauguration, Bush may have two candidates to fear.
A packed audience at Pitzer College in Claremont California was abuzz
with the question: Will Cynthia run? Rumors have spread like
wildfire that Cynthia soon may be announcing plans to run for President
of the United States on the Green Party ticket. If the audience
at the Avery Auditorium at Pitzer College on October 11, 2007, was any
indication of the position of voters, former Congresswoman Cynthia
McKinney could well be on her way to becoming the next President of the
United States. She received applause after applause, including standing
ovations. From the audience questions and reactions, it was clear
that the audience was fed up with the two-party system. Ms.
McKinney received more applause as she discussed the problems
with both parties. To her comment that Nancy Pelosi's name should
be added to the list of those impeached, yells of "Yeah" accompanied
the applause from the audience.
Ms. McKinney comes across as gentle and sweet but knowledgeable and
willing to do what is needed to protect the interests of the American
people. One audience member observed that she looked like a
fashion model. Yet, McKinney was more knowledgeable and honest
than anyone remembered of any current or recent potential Presidential
contender with the exception of Dennis Kucinich .
McKinney was elegant and well-reasoned in her response to
questions, answering with the truth, instead of rhetoric. No
security was present to taser any students at this audience.
McKinney loved the students and they loved her. She also put in a
plug for Cindy Sheehan, who could use extra volunteers in her campaign
against Nancy Pelosi.
Her presentation was highlighted by a crowd-pleasing rap performance
by
Wil B.
Popular rapper Wil B, who likes Dennis Kucinich best of the Democratic
Presidential candidates and who believe Kucinich can win the
nomination, sees the possibility of an independent Presidential bid by
Cynthia McKinney as a plus for the voters.
McKinney is not saying what her decision will be in terms of running
for President. However, she did say there would be an
announcement soon. This is great news to Democrats, who have long
viewed Ms. McKinney as a national hero. Last year, she was
Diebolded in a George primary, where her name was not on the ballot on
Diebold machines in some precincts and McKinney votes were switched to
Johnson votes on Diebold machines where her name was listed.
Complaining voters were not given any remedy to cast their vote for
the candidate of their choice. The Democratic Party, though it
was informed about the illegal election-rigging, did nothing to save
the day for the voters or to overturn an election that would have kept
McKinney in Congress for another term. One national Democratic
Club (the Patrick Henry Democratic Club of America) declared Ms.
McKinney its Congresswoman of the year. Progressive groups across
party lies hailed her as a hero for filing Articles of Impeachment
against George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Condoleezza Rice.
McKinney's entry into the race would change the Democratic
landscape. If Edwards, Obama or Clinton is nominated, instead of
having to vote for Ron Paul or stay home, progressive Democrats would
have the option of voting for Cynthia McKinney.
Without Kucinich as its candidate, analysts, taking into
account Democratic dissatisfaction with the Democratic Party, have
serious doubts that the Democratic Party can win. One analyst
told the news team, "The Democratic Party is ignoring reality and
conducting business as usual. It's going to lose its shirt in the
next Presidential election. "
The only question is whether an independent candidate could get on the
ballot in enough states to win. The public is poised to elect an
independent. The question is whether Kucinich, McKinney or
both will jump. To try to prevent Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul
from going independent, the conservatives in their respective parties
have placed well-financed primary challengers in Kucinich's and Paul's
Congressional districts. They usually landslide to victory.
Apparently, their parties are hoping that these primary challengers
will deter Kucinich and Paul from jumping. Kucinich, who has
always shown courage, hinted at the Latino Congreso that he might
consider the jump.
The Creative Youth News Team took a survey this morning of
Democratic-leaning participants who will be 18 or above in 2008.
The question was, "Would you vote independent if the Democratic Party
nominates Edwards, Obama or Clinton?" with the results being that
90% would vote independent if the independent
candidate was Kucinich, 87% if the independent
candidate was McKinney and 79% if the independent candidate was Ron
Paul. Participants saw both major parties as completely out of touch.
The Creative Youth News Team will be checking announcements from the
Secretary of State's office to see if America is headed towards making
history by electing an independent or third party President.
