The Right to Live and to be Safe From Torture, And Extreme Cruelty:
Rights the California Democratic Party Denies My Generation
Notice What's Missing from the Current Platform
by Simon F. (Age 15)

My generation invites the California Democratic Party to read the teachings of Martin Luther King, Jr.

"In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends"

"Silence is Betrayal ".

" Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.?

This year, the Califonria Democratic Party Platform is silent on everything that matters to my generation.

For years, the California Democratic Party has sent hundreds of Americans to their deaths without having had a chance to vote for a President who would oppose war. Nothing has prevented the Democratic Party from taking a stand.  In fact, they have been encouraged to take a stand on this very issue and have chosen not to do so.  They have figuratively shackled my generation so that we could not say no to real life shackles.  The generation running the Democratic Party has allowed my generation to be kidnapped, taken to American Gulag Schools, where my generation has been starved, beaten, deprived of water, and repeatedly tortured to death. When my generation has asked for the right to have a say, Christine Pelosi, Jo Olson, and others have insulted my generation and treated us like yesterday's garbage, unworthy and undeserving of anything but what their generation chooses to give us. Leaders within the Democratic Party have stolen our woks and our property and have failed to give us credit for anything we do.  They use slave labor to help them put together caucuses and to promote the Democratic Party while depriving workers of my generation of expected compensation and basic human rights.

This year, again, the generation with all the say chose not to mention the words "Iraq" "or "withdrawal" in the bullet points of the proposed 2008 California Democratic Platform.  They failed to take a stand against war with Iran.  In fact, Iran is not mentioned anywhwere in the platform.  They paid lip service to the Geneva Conventions while failing to stop the violations of the Geneva Conventions taking place against my generation inside the Untied States of American itself.  The generation that controls the vote and the platform has declared war on my generation.  Too many of my generation have died in this war.  Those who survive are expected to forgive and switch sides at a later time.  They think we will join the oppressors.  The Stockholm Syndrome is their hope for getting our future votes.

It's time we stopped blaming school shootings on guns.  It's time we blamed them on the mindless programming to which the perpetrators of these shootings are subjected, year after year in schools that are allowed to taser students for speaking out and to drag them across streets and punish them for holding a sign, off campus, with the joke, "Bong hits for Jesus."  Why was Nancy Pelosi willing to go along with legislation that would have allowed every school employee (whether a janitor or plumber or teacher) to strip search any child of their choosing?  Do students learn better without clothes?  Why did Nancy Pelosi lead the majority of Democratic House members in voting to keep youth out of Internet chat rooms?  Were they afraid that the youth would be able to organize a rebellion against the attrocities listed above?

How is it that a generation that is too young to vote is old enough to be tried as adults and sentenced to life imprisonment?  Why is it that those who oppose the right of my generation to vote have allowed members of my generation to be sentenced to death in the United States?  Why did it take a Republican Supreme Court to tell the Democrats and the world that they were wrong about allowing us to be sentenced to death?   When did killing and imprisonment without rights become the Democratic way?  When will the Democratic Party take a stand against this?

Why won't the California Democratic Party even take a stand against corporal punishment and torture conducted in educational facilities?  Why didn't the California Democratic Party take a stand against the torture of young elementary kids for their suspected participation in the immigration marches?  Why didn't the California Democratic Party stand up against a vice principle who drove a 14 year old Latino to suicide through threats of imprisonment for organizing an immigration march?
Why did the California Democratic Party allow more than a million American children to be drugged with mind-altering Ritalin, making them the kind of zombies their teachers want to instruct? When will the California Democratic acquire a moral compass.

The platform committee was made aware of the atrocities committed against young Americans in American Gulag Schools before they came up with their proposed platform.  They were made aware of the deaths, of children, starved, left in the sun without water, forced to eat their own vomit, forced to brush their teeth with toothbrushes used to clean toilets, shackled naked in dark rooms, and being otherwise harshly tortured.  What interests prevented the platform commitee from taking a stand against facilities that engage in child torture and killing?  What kept the platform committee from  giving young Americans the right to vote before going to their deaths.?  What prevented the platform commitee from giving the American people opposition to a proposed war nobody outside the platform committee wants?

What does my generation want?  We want you to stop killing us.  We want you to stop kidnapping us.  We want you to stop imprisoning us in institutions that you claim are for our good.  We want you to stop sending us to die before our first vote.  We want you to stop drugging us because we won't conform.   We want you to stop allowing us to be kidnapped and tortured to death because of low grades or preceived disrespectful behavior.  We want you to stop destoying the planet.

Here is my generation's platform. A number of us got together and wrote a platform that actually says something real Americans want to see.  Compare it with that of the California Democratic Party and see who really deserves the vote:

1. All human beings, regardless of race, immigration status, religion, gender, age, ethnic background or orientation, must be given the right to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, a decent wage, a say in the country in which they live, health care, a safe environment, the education of their choice, property rights.  and all Constitutional and human rights.

2. No war shall take place without the consent of the governed except in defense against an immediate clear and undeniable threat of attack.  Before anyone goes off to fight in a war, that person must have voted in at least one Presidential election.  Profiting from war must be criminalized. The war in Iraq is illegal and  and the financing for it must end now and there must be no war with Iran, Venezuela or any other nation that is not about to attack us militarily.  Those who lied to take us into war with Iraq must be removed from office and prosecuted.

3. . All human beings have the right to the highest quality health care, and it is the duty of society to provide the highest quality health care to those who cannot afford it.  No insurance company or other institution should be allowed to profit from sickness.  No person should be denied recommended treatment because it is deemed experimental or optional by adminstrators.

4. . The tasering, imprisoning, torturing and/'or killing of any human being by another must be criminalized.   If such takes place within an institution, those running the insttitution and those carrying out the imprisonment, torture and/or killing must be prosecuted.  The voting age must be lowered to protect the rights of younger Americans.

5.  Ageism must be eliminated, whether in employment, health care, voting rights or other rights.  Education and health care are a matter of right and should be free to individuals of all ages.  Individuals of all ages deserve the right to the education and health care of their choosing.  Failure to hire older workers or to give them the highest quality medical care should be prosecuted.

6. The leaders work for the people and must act on behalf of the people.  To that end, there must be public funding of elections, a right of all candidates to equal time and participation in elections, a national recall, a popular election for President , national primaries, all with instant runoff voting.  Any member of Congress who votes in accordance with political contributions or investments is guilty of a crime.

7. The United States must withdraw from all free trade agreements, such as NAFTA and CAFTA, and from international trade/corporate associations, such as the WTO and the TriLateral Commission, that endanger the right to work in the United States.

8. All infringements on our civil liberties must be repealed.  The Bill of Rights and the 14th Amendment apply to all and are never, again, to be limited by fearful legislation.

9.  No country has the right to kill its citizens or to subject them to the threat of radiation or environmental destruction.  Therefore, the death penalty, nuclear weapons, and the use of fission nuclear power and depleted uranium must be abolished.  International treaties must be honored.  The protection of the environment and the food supply must be a priortity.

10,  No persons should be imprisoned because of their race or economic status.  A disproportionate number of persons of color and of low economic status are housed in prisons.  Until that is no longer the case, alternative sentencing must be found for persons of color and of low economic status .  Those in prison must be prepared for return to society and assisted with jobs, food, housing, health care and counseling until they have adjusted to becoming productive members of society.  A high prison population destroys resources and demotes the value of human beings.  The goal should be a free society working in peace and harmony.

It is important to remembers that, when today's young Americans get the vote, we won't forget who are our friends. We are standing up and those who will receive our support in the future are those who will stand with us.
