VIOLENCE AT THE CALIFORNIA DEMOCRATIC PARTY RESOLUTIONS COMMITTEE
WHAT A DAY!

Special Report by the Creative Youth News Team

11/18/07

Violence and action at an otherwise dull meeting should have been a big attention getter.  However, Creative Youth News Team members were so concerned with important resolutions that were about to come before the committee and the room was so crowded with such limited visibility,  they missed the fight of the day  wherein resolutions co-chairman John Hanna reportedly assaulted and battered Courage Campaign managing director Eden James.

Eden James and Julia Rosen had reportedly entered the room with a sign bearing the names of some of the clubs that had signed onto a resolution calling for the censure of Senator Dianne Feinstein.  This was placed on the wall behind the head of the table.  According to the blogs, John Hanna falsely stated the party rules did not allow the sign in the room, threatened to call security, then pushed both the sign and James, and then pushed James himself.  Hanna reportedly ripped the sign from James's hands and threw it on the floor.  It was whisked away to the staff room.  It was later retrieved and  placed on an aisle outside the door to the resolutions room.  The action was picked up by various bloggers.  http://terryfaceplace.blogspot.com/ and http://www.couragecampaign.org/page/community/post/juliarosen/Bnf to name a couple.

This behavior from an educator and an attorney is not something one often sees on the political scene.  It is more indicative of the televised Parliamentary sessions in Taiwan.  If politics is going to be confrontative, the Creative Youth News Team suggests placing boxing referees at meetings of the California Democratic Party.  Instead of calling for Cheney's impeachment, California Democrats might want to consider calling on John Hanna to punch out Dick Cheney.   It's faster than impeachment and would make for great TV.  Congress could make enough money off the sale of the videos to pay for some of those domestic social programs George W. Bush has cut or eliminated.
